I am frequently asked about brace options to assist with arthritis, meniscus and cartilage damage pain. The most effective brace for these issues is referred to as an offloader knee brace. It works by applying pressure to the knee and moving most of the weight to the "better" part of the knee. For most patients that means moving the pressure from the inside to the outside of the knee. These braces should be worn for any longer active periods such as walking more than 5-10 minutes. It will need to be readjusted as you walk since they do slide down. They all do by the way but the sleeve listed will help. If you will click on the link below it will take you to the one that is closest to the more expensive options sold in a brace shop or come see me in clinic if you would prefer a prescription to be sent to a brace distributor. Confirm your correct leg side and size before ordering.
