When recovering from an ankle injury my brace of choice is a lace up ankle brace. The brace should be laced up tight enough for stability but not so tight that it effects circulation to the toes or front of the foot. It will need to be retightened once or twice an hour depending on how active you are during that time as it is designed to loosen. I prefer the lace up because it is easier to tighten and faster than taping. Sometimes a sleeve underneath can prevent friction on the skin when needed. The sleeve also provides mild swelling control and support as pain improves. Confirm your size with the size chart on amazon.
